What are pressure plate?
A pressure plate is a non-solid block that can be used to detect players, mobs, items, etc. It has four variants:
- Wooden pressure plate: Can detect all entities, giving out a maximum signal strength.
- Stone pressure plate: Can detect only players and mobs, giving out a maximum signal strength.
- Light weighted pressure plate: Can detect all entities. The signal strength increases as more entities are added.
- Heavy weighted pressure plate: Similar to a light weighted pressure plate but measures groups of 10 entities.
What is the function of a pressure plate?
In the clutch assembly of a manual transmission, the pressure plate, or clutch plate, acts alongside several other components, including the flywheel and clutch disc—both of which contribute to how the clutch becomes engaged and disengaged while initiating gears shifting and maintaining a specific speed. The clutch plate undergoes a lot of pressure and friction in this process, and can become worn over time—especially with consistently strained gear shifting.
How do heavy weighted pressure plate work?
The golden/iron weighted pressure plates emit a Redstone signal when you drop items on them. A golden weighted pressure plate lets off a full regular pressure plate signal when you drop 60 items onto it. The iron weighted pressure plate emits a full regular pressure plate signal when you drop 600 items on it.
